Mr. Ryan Storie
I am very excited to begin my first year with St. Joan of Arc Catholic School. Not only is it my first year here, but it is also my very first teaching job. I couldn’t be more grateful for this wonderful opportunity. Prior to coming to St. Joan of Arc, I was a substitute teacher and teacher’s assistant in the Maplewood Richmond Heights School District. In addition to my teaching, I was also a Produce Manager for Shop ‘n Save foods. I have over 15 years of experience working in the grocery business and have worked at multiple locations across the St. Louis area.
I have a BS in Education with emphasis in Physical and Health Education K-12 from Missouri Baptist University where I graduated in 2008. I performed my student teaching at Seckman High School and Hillsboro High School that same spring as the Physical Education teacher for grades 9-12. Coaching is also a great passion for me. I currently coach my sons’ baseball/T-Ball and soccer teams. I am also very involved with my church at Christ Memorial.
Since I was in grade school, I have always loved the idea of being a teacher. It was very natural to choose education when I entered college. I thoroughly enjoy working with children of all ages; establishing positive relationships and helping them to grow in their education and faith. I like the idea of working in a Catholic school because there is a great sense of community and it feels like being part of a large family. When children come to school every day excited to learn and participate in activities, it really inspires me to be the best teacher for them.
There are many things I hope to accomplish during my first year of teaching. I hope that all my students can look back on this year and not only say that they enjoyed my classes but also learned new skills and activities. My goal is to provide students with knowledge and experiences about P.E. and Health. When students are educated with a healthy mind, body, and faith they will have a greater quality of life for years to come.
In my free time, I enjoy running, baseball/softball, reading, going to the movies and essentially any sport or activity that gets me moving. Most of all, I enjoy spending time with my wonderful wife and two sons (and soon to be third kid).
